My Wonderful Tuxedo Kitten, Scout

This is a picture of my older sister holding Scout right after we brought Scout home.

One day, my dad came home from Brocco's Old Barn. He was just getting hay for our miniature donkeys. My dad started talking about these adorable kittens he saw at Brocco's. My mom and I could not believe he was telling us this! He always says, "No more pets!" And now, he was talking about these darling kittens. Then, I had a dentist appointment in Petaluma. As we were coming home, my dad turned into Brocco's. I had a feeling what was going on. As we walked inside, my dad went into another room, to look for the kittens. But, I just stood there, staring. On the counter, the workers were playing with a kitten that was soooooo cute and fuzzy! Next, my dad came back, looking worried. He said, "I think they're all gone." Then, the workers saw me staring at the kitten, and said, "Do you want to hold her?" I shyly said, "Okay." As I was holding the kitten, my dad saw how happy I was. He said,"Do you want her?" I again, said very shyly, "Okay." Then, the workers gave us a box, and we left. I was so excited! On the way home, I kept peeking in the box, and petting the kitten. When we got home, I closed the box. My sister and mom were inside, right by the door. When, my dad and I came in, I said, "Look what I got from the dentist!" As I opened the box, my sister and mom gasped, and didn't say a word, for quite a while. It was actually pretty funny. Right away, my sister took a picture with the kitten, and sent it to a friend. I finally named the kitten Scout. It totally fit her! When my dad and I were at Brocco's, the workers said she was 8 weeks. When we took her to the vet, they said she was only 3 weeks. Now, she is 20 months! She is as healthy as can be. She has turned out to be a very slick cat, with an adorable white chin. She has 2 little white socks on the front paws, and some bigger socks on the back paws. It's also very funny, because she has a teensy tiny tail! We all love Scout very, very, much.(Even though she scratches me, very, very, much!)

This story is really good, especially because there was a Brocco's Old Barn in my hometown! How is Scout behaving nowaday? You said she scratches you a lot?

Scout's Momma
by: Kohana Bowman

Thank you everybody for commenting on my story! And to answer your question, Jean, her eyes were blue because she was only about 3 weeks old. Now, her eyes are greenish gold. We actually think Scout is a runt, because she is still, very tiny. Thanks again, for commenting, everybody!

I agree with Jean. What a cute story and what a cute (and lucky) kitty. "How I found my cat" are some of my favorite stories. I'm so glad you two found each other. I wish both a long and happy life together.

And again thank you for sharing this lovely picture. Our readers will love it!

Scouts are the best!
by: Jean from Tennessee

I loved your story about Scout and would really like to see a picture of your little cat. She sounds like a beauty. I'm sure your Mom and Sister were amazed that you got such a great gift at the dentist's office!

Your story made me smile! :>)
